Welcome to Vasetdansen Camping Ground. Enjoy an active holiday in the heart of mountain Norway. Vasetdansen is just off state road 51, 25 kilometres from Fagernes, 30 from Gol. It is in Valdres in the heart of southern Norway.

Richly endowed by nature with resources that are rare nowadays. Tisleidalen can boast of mountain lakes and streams to fish in and breathtaking scenery to walk in. The River Tislea, which winds its way through the camping ground, is one of Norway´s best mountain trout streams. Not only that, but the valley has a varied fauna both winter and summer. If you would like to see the king of the forest, the elk, or smaller game such as fox, hare or game birds at close range, you should stand a good chance here. In Tisleidalen you can still find mountain farms with cattle and sheep that range freely over summer pastures. Some of these mountain farms take guests and serve local specialities such as sour cream porridge and cured leg of lamb or ham or sausage, brown cheese and waffles. If you would like to go hiking or biking in wood or mountain, you will find yourself spoilt for choice. Just consult the special tourist map. The terrain has a lot to offer: tiny idyllic tarns, waterfalls, potholes, paths and peaks. If you have a taste for other activities,there are numerous posibilities all within a thirty kilometre radius. At Gol there is an indoor water funpark with a wave pool, water slide and sauna. Other facilities not too far off include a horse riding centre, a go-cart track and golf links. If you are looking for something uniquely Norwegian you can go and see the stave church at Gol while in the summer season the Open Air Folk Museum at Fagernes can offer local folk music and dances. Winter, too, has plenty to offer the visitor, in fact something for everyone, ski slopes with lifts for the slalom or snowboard enthusiast and forest and mountain trails for the cross country skier. The mountains around Vasetdansen offer both shorter and longer trips. Mile after mile of marked double-track trails invite you to explore plateau and peak, providing challenges both to the beginner and the expert. Brattstølen Ski Centre is a favourite spot for all those who love speed and excitement. The slope is popular with the whole family and excellent for tobogganing and for Telemark skiing. At the centre you can hire skiing equipment, learn how to ski with the school´s expert instructors or simply enjoy a cup of coffee or a coke in the warmth of the café.
